The SMLIGHT SLZB-Ultima 3 (P10+MG24) is a professional-grade smart home gateway engineered to handle complex, multi-protocol environments. Operating on the ESP32-S3 platform, this device functions independently from a central server, ensuring optimal placement flexibility and reliable remote management. It is fully optimized for popular smart home ecosystems, including Home Assistant, Zigbee2MQTT, ZHA, and Matter-over-Thread.

Dual-Radio Architecture

Unlike traditional single-radio USB dongles, the SLZB-Ultima 3 employs a dual-radio hardware design. It integrates two independent chips running in parallel: the Texas Instruments CC2674P10 and the Silicon Labs EFR32MG24. This architecture allows users to operate two distinct physical networks simultaneously, seamlessly managing Zigbee 3.0 and Thread traffic without risking performance degradation or network instability.

Network Connectivity and Expansion

The coordinator guarantees reliable network communication through its 100 Mbps Ethernet port and built-in 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Its integrated Bluetooth capabilities function seamlessly as a Bluetooth Proxy within Home Assistant. Additionally, the USB host interface allows for USB pass-through of one connected device, making it easy to bridge serial converters like CP2102, CH340, or CDC_ACM directly into your smart home system.

Integrated Peripherals and Modular Upgrades

The SLZB-Ultima 3 comes equipped with a comprehensive set of built-in peripherals for local interaction and environmental control. It includes an infrared (IR) receiver and transmitter for controlling legacy devices, alongside an audio output, a buzzer, and three physically programmable buttons. System status and custom visual alerts are displayed via 12 fully addressable WS2812B RGB LEDs and four dedicated service LEDs. The hardware can be further customized through modular add-ons, with support for Power over Ethernet (PoE), Z-Wave 800, a UPS battery backup, or a 4G/LTE bridge.

Software and Firmware Features

By default, the device is powered by SLZB-OS, which provides a feature-rich web interface accessible in over 20 languages. The operating system simplifies setup with secure login, one-click mode switching, dark mode, and integrated configuration helpers for Zigbee2MQTT and ZHA. For users requiring highly specialized automation, the device can also be flashed with ESPHome.
