We visited the IFA trade fair in Berlin!

Focus areas

  • Inspiration for new products
We followed the world premieres of the latest smart home devices and looked for original solutions that could expand our offer. We were interested in progress in automation, AI integration, and connecting with various platforms.

  • News and technologies
We focused on manufacturers’ stands presenting smart appliances, security systems, energy solutions, robotics, and innovative controls and sensors.

  • B2B meetings and networking
We met with potential partners and established contacts with both existing and new suppliers. We discussed exclusive distribution options, product testing, and cooperation in developing our own solutions.

  • Overall market direction
We paid attention to trends in sustainability, compatibility with standards (such as Matter, Zigbee, Z-Wave), as well as product design and user-friendliness.

What impressed us

  • Several well-known manufacturers came up with new products that are not yet officially on offer, most of which will hit the market at the turn of the year. We were especially impressed by Shelly, who is releasing meaningful innovations in their existing products with generation number 4. For example, the LoRa add-on module for classic smart switches allows for remote control, better presence sensing, etc.

  • Sonoff introduced a new series of switches – Orb and Quad, which are highly modular, enabling users to customize their own combinations. They also improved the NS panel series, including Home Assistant integration.

  • Aqara is launching the new FP300 presence sensor, which will be even better than the previous one and probably the best presence sensor on the market. It will also measure temperature, humidity, and luminance.

  • Reolink also focused on integrating AI into camera systems, enabling cameras with object tracking to distinguish, for example, man/woman, age, hair type, eye color, clothing, and accessories (glasses, backpack...). They can count the number of people in a room (even add/subtract people passing through doors) and detect areas of increased movement.

  • In a few weeks, we will fill the gap in our e-shop in the field of electrical protection, where we found a manufacturer with a broad product range. We had the chance to test several products personally and were very impressed by their features and operation. There is much to look forward to.

  • We were also struck by how many new smart home products emerge every year. The pet-focused and animal world areas are also expanding.

Benefit for Homebrainz and our customers

Thanks to our participation at IFA Berlin, Homebrainz brings customers the best of the smart home world. The contacts and inspiration gained will be used to broaden our offer, introduce innovative products, and speed up implementation of technological innovations in our services.

The exhibition was also an inspiration for developing our own product, which we are working hard on and which will be a new entry to the market.

Conclusion

IFA Berlin convinced us that the smart home world is dynamic, full of ideas, and always moving forward. We are already working on new projects that we will introduce soon. Thank you to all partners for the meetings, and we look forward to the next exhibition!
