At HomeBrainz, we strive to make your smart home experience as seamless as possible. Recently, we noticed that certain Tongou Zigbee devices needed a bit of extra configuration to work flawlessly with the ZHA (Zigbee Home Automation) integration in Home Assistant.
To solve this compatibility issue, our team developed a custom ZHA quirk specifically tailored for these Tongou products. We are excited to share this solution with our community to help you unlock the full potential of your smart circuit breakers and switches. You can download the necessary file, TZE204_q22avxbv.py, directly from our store or support page.
Follow these steps to implement the custom quirk in your Home Assistant setup:
Open your Home Assistant configuration file.
Add the specific ZHA code block provided below to enable custom quirks.
Create a new folder named zha_quirks in your main Home Assistant configuration directory.
Upload the downloaded TZE204_q22avxbv.py file into the /homeassistant/zha_quirks folder using standard add-ons like File editor or Studio Code Server.
Restart Home Assistant completely to apply these changes.
Re-pair your Tongou Zigbee device so the system recognizes it and applies the new custom quirk.
Here is the code block you need to add to your configuration.yaml file:
